Feud: Bette & Joan • Broadcast Social

What We Did... Ran the in-season social campaign for Ryan Murphy’s latest TV series about Bette Davis and Joan Crawford. We live-tweeted episodes, created rad content1, and wrote scripts for special shoots.

What I Did... Directed the social strategy and oversaw community management. Used my past experience working on Homeland, Nurse Jackie, Penny Dreadful, and Billions to craft a weekly, in-season calendar that fostered community conversation.

In all campaigns I’ve worked on, I’ve found it important to take engagement a step further. It’s easy to give a like or a reply, but what really turns users into fans is active engagement on an individual level.

For Feud, we took things a step further by turning our weekly live-tweeting sessions into award ceremonies. Users who were sassy enough, fun enough, or witty enough received a custom graphic2 with their name on it by the time the episode ended.
